About
Ty Buckner &
C. Scott Lannon
Two voices, one story. The Cut series is a collaboration built on a shared belief that the best sports fiction tells the truth about everything that happens off the field.
Ty Buckner
Ty Buckner writes about kids, baseball, and the complicated space between the two. He lives in Southern California.
The Cut series is his debut. It draws on years spent in the bleachers and behind backstops watching travel ball culture up close -- the talent, the money, the politics, and the kids caught in the middle of all of it. His goal is simple: write sports fiction that respects both the game and the readers who love it.
C. Scott Lannon
C. Scott Lannon writes fiction at the intersection of technology, power, and human consequence. With a background in enterprise software architecture and artificial intelligence, he brings an insider's understanding of complex systems -- and the people who build, control, and sometimes break them.
His stories explore what happens when ambition meets innovation, when systems outgrow their creators, and when ordinary people are forced to navigate extraordinary technological shifts. He lives in Southern California with his wife and son.

About the Cut Series
Each book title is a single-word baseball term that doubles as an emotional metaphor. Cut, Steal, Balk-- words from the game that describe what is happening in Grant Lane's life. The series follows a thirteen-year-old left-handed pitching prodigy navigating Southern California travel ball, his parents' divorce, and the question every young athlete eventually faces: is this my dream, or everyone else's?
